Dorothy Tetrault Obituary
Dorothy "Darcy" E. Tetrault was born in October, 1941, the youngest of five children of the late William and Dorothy (Carter) Madden in Quincy, Massachusetts. She passed peacefully following a long illness on September 8, 2023.
Darcy grew up on the south shore, graduating from Weymouth High School in 1959. She met her devoted husband of 62 years, John Tetrault, at their jobs at the First National Bank of Boston and married in June of 1961, settling in Lynn to raise their family.
Darcy was preceded in death by beloved daughter Cheryl Lopez and is survived by husband John, who provided exceptional care that allowed her to enjoy her home for as long as possible. She also leaves behind daughter Susan and husband David, son John Jr. and wife Denise, son William, and grandson Kyle Lopez.
Kyle was the light of her life; she was incredibly proud of him upon his graduation first from St. John's Preparatory School and more recently, from Worcester Polytechnical Institute with a double Robotics and Electrical Engineering degree.

She enjoyed camping, softball, volleyball, bowling, playing cards and games with her husband, family, and friends, and making crafts and sewing. All this in addition to raising four children!

RIP Jack!
John Richard Karlberg
November 29, 1941 — February 24, 2023
Palm Coast, FL
John R. Karlberg passed away peacefully on February 24th surrounded by his family at his home in Palm Coast, FL. He was 81. John was born November 29th, 1941, in Weymouth, MA. Proud of his Swedish heritage and traditions, John was raised by his loving parents of Swedish descent, Russell and Frances Karlberg; John was the second youngest of four boys. He grew up in South Weymouth and attended Weymouth High School. After high school, John pursued an Ivy League education on a full scholarship to Columbia College in New York City, where he played football and graduated with honors, receiving a degree in Economics, class of 1963. John then served in the National Guard before proceeding to build a successful career in the transportation industry, working in executive roles with companies such as Sun Carriers Inc. and Jones Truck Lines, prior to becoming President and Chief Operating Officer at New England Motor Freight (NEMF).
God blessed John with an abundance of intelligence, charisma, talent, and work ethic. As a role model for many, John took these blessings and used them to help others realize their full potential. He was a special, one-of-a-kind man that knew the value of hard work and treated everyone with kindness and respect. Admired by many, John was known for imparting wisdom, leading by example, and for his generosity in giving to those in need and offering financial support to others, inspiring them to pursue their own goals. He valued education and lived a life of continuous learning, obtaining his MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University and teaching summer seminar as an adjunct professor for the University of Arkansas.
While John was well accomplished in athletics, academics, and business, his greatest accomplishment was marrying the love of his life, Anne. Over their 58 years of marriage, they went on to create a legacy of family that spans 4 generations. His list of accomplishments throughout his life are extensive and noteworthy but none of which are more significant than the impact he has made on his daughters, Laurie, Debbie and Jennifer and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren who adored him.
Whether you called him John, Jack, JK, Dad or Big Daddy, knowing him made you a better person. He was a voracious reader, enjoyed playing golf and tennis, and cherished spending time with his wife, daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren in the Poconos, Florida, North and South Carolina. John’s fight with cancer lasted over a decade, and his brave and hard-fought battle ended Friday, February 24th, 2023, sending him to the Lord where he will rest for eternity beside Jesus and his daughter Leigh-Anne.
John is survived by his wife, Anne Karlberg; brother, Kenneth Karlberg and sister-in-law Louise; brother Russell Karlberg; his daughter, Laurie Walck and son-in-law Ron Walck; daughter Debbie Bellino and son-in-law James Bellino; daughter Jennifer Hazelip and son-in-law Robert Hazelip; and grandchildren Jared McEvoy and his wife Katie; Shane McEvoy and his wife Cynthia, Jason McEvoy, Courtney Ayer and her husband Michael, Samantha Bellino, John Bellino, Anna Bellino, Lydia Hazelip, Luke Hazelip, Leigh-Anne Hazelip, and great-grandchildren Charlotte, Camila, Elizabeth.
He is predeceased by his parents, Russell and Frances Karlberg; brother, Gordon Karlberg; sister-in-law, Ann Karlberg and his daughter, Leigh-Anne Karlberg.

Obituary of Donald E. Bishop
Donald E. Bishop, 82, of Duxbury entered into eternal life surrounded by family on February 11, 2023.
He was born in Weymouth on February 26, 1940 to Willard and Edith (Shores) Bishop. He was predeceased by his sister Diane (Bishop) Mason.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 61 years Marion (Sullivan) Bishop his four children, daughter Robin Nudd and her husband Loring of Duxbury, daughter Stephanie Sousa and her husband Harold of Maine, daughter Lisa Houston and her husband Douglas of Plymouth; and son Jeffrey Bishop and his wife Joanna of Duxbury. As well as 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Donald graduated Weymouth High School and went on to Northeastern University. He built his first home in Halifax where he learned to be a Mason. In 1967 he moved his family to Duxbury and continued his career as a Mason, building many of the chimneys, stairs, patios and stone walls still in town. Donald’s greatest joy, after his family, was his garden. If not at work, that’s where you could always find him. His home was always open to friends and filled with much laughter and occasional dancing (which he was very good at). He was at every event for his family giving much love and support.
Donald was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He taught us how to cherish time together as a family, work hard, be humble and proud.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Donald’s name to Cranberry Hospice, 36 Cordage Park Circle, Suite 326, Plymouth, MA 02360
A Funeral Mass will be held at a future date.

JOHN RYAN OBITUARY
John (Jack) Michael Ryan died Tuesday, September 13, 2022, just six days from his eighty-first birthday, at Golden Pond Memory Care in Hopkinton from complications of dementia. His family thanks the staff at Golden Pond for the kind, patient care they gave Jack.
Born in Boston in 1941 to the late John Phillip and Dorothy (Nado) Ryan, Jack spent his early years growing up in South Boston. The family moved to Weymouth, MA in 1955, but Jack never lost his love for Southie, and for two years after moving to Weymouth, he took public transportation back to the old neighborhood as often as he could. Jack graduated from Weymouth High School in 1959, and then from Bridgewater State College as a history major in 1963, with the intention of becoming a teacher. The day after he graduated from college, he married his wife of 59 years, Loraine B. Herrington, whom he met while they both worked at Stop and Shop in North Weymouth.
Because of his love of the outdoors, Jack and Loraine moved to Berkshire County, where Jack began his thirty-five year teaching career in the North Adams School System. Some people are born teachers, and Jack was one of them. Upon learning of his death, several former students have contacted Jack's daughters with messages of condolence, but also sharing the impact he had: "Your father was an amazing, brilliant man." "He was a great guy and had the love and patience to deal with middle school students all those years..." "He was so patient as a teacher, he cared, and he challenged us while dealing with typical middle school misbehaviors really well!" Jack loved telling anecdotes about the funny things kids would do or say and he respected the time of life they were in and all its difficulties. He took great satisfaction in their questions, their bright, inquisitive eyes, and the unfolding of awareness he witnessed in each class he had. He made a difference.
After his retirement, Jack continued to help in the community by providing transportation to special needs adults and by delivering meals via Meals-on-Wheels to the elderly.
Jack was an outdoors enthusiast, and was never happier than when fishing in his favorite spots in the Berkshires: along the Cold River, the Green River, the Deerfield and the many ponds in the area. He also loved the ocean, and he and the family vacationed every year on Cape Cod, so he could try his luck on the Cape Cod Canal or on the ocean beaches. Fishing is like teaching: you can't catch them all, but when you catch one, it is what keeps you going back. In his latter years, the ocean called once more, and Jack and Loraine moved to Wells, ME, where they walked the beach every day.
He will be laid to rest at Oceanside Cemetery in Wells and will lie forever near the sound of the waves, the smell of the salt air, and all the ones that got away.
Besides his wife Loraine, Jack leaves three daughters: Lisa Ryan Weil (Jeffrey) of Sudbury, MA; Ann Ryan of Shelton, CT; and Karen Ryan of Hull, MA. He also leaves three grandchildren: Parker and Sophie Weil and Samantha Shaffer. In addition, he leaves his brother Phillip Ryan (Joni) of Escondido, CA and sister Ruth Ryan (Aaron Stratton) of Hamilton, MA. Also mourning his loss are two nieces and two nephews: Carolyn Ryan Padgett (Fred), Rhiannon Ryan Stratton, John Ryan, and Dylan Ryan Stratton.
It'll be OK, Jack. Remember what Dad used to say: "You were once part of a star and you will be again." You are now a little further along to the cosmos than the rest of us.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made in Jack's memory to the Alzheimer's Association at https://act.alz.org or to the charity of your choice.

Roswell Hall
Roswell G. Hall III, 80, of Storrs, died Tuesday, September 21, 2021. He was born in Boston to the late Roswell G. Hall Jr. and Harriet K. Hall. He grew up in Weymouth, MA, and spent many memorable summers with his family on Cape Cod, a place he loved all his life. Ros earned his degree in aeronautical engineering at Boston University. While in Boston he met the love of his life, Gretchen L. Ott, whom he married May 31, 1968. After the births of their daughters the couple moved to Storrs, where they lived for 43 years in the house that Ros helped to design and build, and continued to improve as long as he was able. A consummate engineer and handyman, he loved to tinker in his workroom and garage. He could take a car apart and put it back together and perform complex math in his head, to the amazement of his family. Ros lived for everyone around him. A proud veteran of the US Air Force, he served during the Vietnam War at Udorn Royal Thai Air Force Base. In Mansfield he was a longtime member of the Planning and Zoning Commission, the Lions Club, and First Church of Christ, and was a volunteer tax preparer at the Senior Center. He helped anyone who needed it and was generous with his advice, time, and mechanical know-how. A patient teacher, he made sure his daughters could swing a hammer and change a tire, make buckwheat pancakes, and become good humans. Ros found delight in just about everything, especially life's absurdities. A gifted storyteller, he could spin a yarn from his life's many adventures and his daily commute. His was a subtle humor, but if he got going he'd laugh until he cried. Most of all he loved time with friends and family. His positive outlook through multiple illnesses inspired everyone who knew him. Ros was quiet yet steady, and selfless to the end. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Gretchen; daughter Phoebe and husband Peter; daughter Rebecca and husband Andrew; sister and brother-in-law Deborah and George Little; nieces and nephews; and many, many dear friends. Services will be private. Donations in his memory may be made to Lions Clubs International and First Church of Christ in Mansfield.

Donald Bruce Wentworth DMD of Orleans, died peacefully Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at Liberty Commons in Chatham, at the age of 79. Donald was born August 31, 1941, in Weymouth, to Emily (Nickerson) and Nelson Wentworth, one of a pair of identical twins. He spent his childhood at 134 Pierce Road in Weymouth, and he remembered it as a wonderful neighborhood to grow up in where he could walk everywhere and get into adventures. Some of his favorite memories included spending summers visiting with his mothers family on Cape Cod, and hanging out repairing and souping up cars with his teenaged friends. He remained an avid car lover and collector throughout his life. Donald graduated from Weymouth High School in 1959, and was accepted to Northeastern University as an Engineering major on a full-tuition scholarship. After his first year he attended summer classes at Boston University, finishing second in his class. It was at this point that he became interested in dentistry, and upon returning to Northeastern he changed his major and graduated Northeastern with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Donald was then accepted to the rigorous program at Tufts Dental School and graduated as a D.M.D. After a year-long internship at Memorial Hospital of Worcester (now UMass Memorial Medical Center) he decided to move to Cape Cod, where his family had spent their best moments. He met his former wife, Faye Ramsay, and co-founded Lower Cape Dental Associates with a partner. Donald and Faye were married in May 1975 and settled in South Orleans in a historic 1800s-era house to raise a family. He then decided to chart his own course, building a dental office next to his home, where he practiced until he retired. Donald and Faye created a loving and idyllic home for their five children and two stepchildren, complete with vegetable gardens, a menagerie of pets, and a community of wonderful dental patients that chuckled at the antics of the wild kids wandering through constantly. Throughout his career, Donald was known as an intelligent, talented, kind, and generous man. He exemplified the practice of dentistry in both the skill and creativity of his craft, and his love for his patients. He was proud that no matter who came through his door or how much they had in their pocket he would make sure they received his best work and were taken care of properly. In his last moments, Donald expressed that he had led a wonderful life. Donald will be missed by his children, daughters Emily Haynes (Charlie), and Amy Cunningham (Jerry); his sons Eric (Melissa), Alex (Kristen), and Adam; and by his stepdaughter Virginia Mayo-Logan (Sandy). He is also survived by 15 wonderful grandchildren. He was predeceased by his stepson John Mayo Jr. (Amy), in addition to his parents and brother Ronald. Donald's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Liberty Commons who on numerous occasions gave their all to make sure that he was comfortable and well-cared for, just as he cared for his own patients. Family, friends, and community are invited to a celebration of Donald's life, to be held on Thursday, August 5, 2021, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Nickerson Funeral Home in Orleans. Sad News-We have lost another classmate.
Albert M. Gray Jr., 79 years young, of Norwell and Lake Mary, FL, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2021, surrounded by family at home, after a short but dignified battle with cancer. Survived by his loving wife of 58 years Linda (Craven) Gray. Father to David and his wife Andrea (Nutter) Gray of Weymouth, Steven Gray of Weymouth, and Kristin and her husband Sean Ford of Norwell. Adoring Grandfather to David Gray, Emily Gray, and Ella Richerson of Weymouth, Hailey Gray of Weymouth, and Grayson, Abigail, and Allison Ford of Norwell. Al was predeceased by his daughter-in-law Denise Gray and grandchild Kyle Gray. He was the son of the late Albert M. Gray Sr. and Eudora (Pflaumer) Gray, and brother to John David Gray. Al lived his life to the fullest all the way to the end, never settling for less, pursuing perfection, and living his dream retirement. To call Al a talented and skilled woodworker and cabinetmaker, is an understatement. His skills were not limited to woodworking, as he had the knack to figure out just about anything mechanical and do the job right. He loved the challenge of solving a problem. Al had a passion for boating and was skilled at seamanship, having owned 19 boats over the years, both in MA and FL. His 32' Egg Harbor "Mas Wish" was his pride and joy. Al and his family had enjoyed many summers as members of the Wessagusett Yacht Club. Al also enjoyed model railroading, and his attention to detail in the complex layouts and sceneries, was impressive. Al spent much time at the Hingham Model Railroad Club and in his shop working on train layouts. Beyond all of his talents and abilities, Al was a kind and loving man that would help someone with no questions asked. During this difficult time many people have reached out to say "do you remember when?", referring to a time when Al stepped up to give someone a hand. Above all the most important thing in his life was his family. Al loved being around his children and grandchildren, and was inseparable from his high school sweetheart, Linda. Al will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of spending any time with him. Services will be private for family only. In lieu of flowers, donations to honor Al may be made to St. Judes Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. For an online guestbook, please visit www.mcnamara-sparrell.com. Sad Note-another classmate has passed. Rip Judi.
Obituary-Judith Coates Palmer-Becker
Springfield - Judith Coates Becker (née Palmer) passed away unexpectedly on August 26. She was 78 years old. Born on February 27, 1942, in Weymouth, MA, to Lilian and Fred Palmer, Judi had a younger brother, Richard. She graduated from Weymouth High School, and attended Jackson College (Tufts University) where she graduated in 1963. She married Donald Bernier in 1964, and they settled in Williamstown, VT, where her daughter Michele was born and later to St. Johnsbury where her son Alan was born. Soon after, the family moved to Burlington. In Burlington, Judi began her decades long career in hospital development administration at the University of Vermont Medical Center and later at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. In 1990, Judi married Edward Becker and relocated to Springfield, VT. Judi, or Gaga as she is affectionately called by her seven grandchildren, was a doting grandmother who trekked across the country to catch soccer and baseball games, dance recitals, musical performances, birthdays and graduations. When Gaga arrived, you could count on her suitcase to be filled with treats and tokens from her travels, Champlain Chocolate, and, without fail, jugs of Vermont maple syrup. She delighted in seeing her young grandchildren "eating their fruits and veggies" but also loved spoiling them with her famous chocolate chip cookies. Her family describes Judi as: supportive, unwaveringly consistent, accepting of people as they are, go with the flow, sweet, generous and Vermont tough. In retirement, Judi didn't skip a beat; she whole-heartedly embraced this new phase of her life by pursuing her many interests and continued to lead her healthy and active lifestyle and to take classes at Dartmouth with Ed. While Judi found plenty to do to keep herself busy close to home, volunteering at the Springfield Coop and at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center gift shop, her busy travel schedule took her to Africa, China, Europe, South America, Alaska, Hawaii and more. Judi is survived by her husband Ed, daughter Michele Vitali, son Alan Bernier (Sydney), and grandchildren Lily Vitali, Leo Vitali, Lucy Vitali, Cyrus Bernier and Rowan Bernier, stepson Michael Becker (Megan) and their children Maxwell and Miles. She is predeceased by her parents and brother. The family requests donations in Judi's name go to the Springfield Food Co-op, 335 River Street, Springfield VT 05156 and Vermont Public Radio by going to https://donate.vpr.org/. Subject: Re: Hunt School Windows
Hi.
FYI.
On behalf of the 1954 Hunt School seventh grade class — the school's ONLY 7th grade class — Art made a donation to buy two new glass windows for the front of the building, which is now the private South Shore Christian Academy.
When the new windows were installed, replacing the previous semi-transparent ones, the results exceeded expectations. The enhanced ambiance inside in the hallway and stairways was truly amazing. The outside light really brightens everything up.
Near each window is a plaque with a picture of our classmates. Gad, we were so young then!

Christine Anderson Maclin Obituary
Christine Anderson Maclin, 74
PORTLAND - Christine Anderson Maclin of Portland, owner of Maclin Design, died on Jan. 22, 2016 after living with pancreatic cancer for two and a half years. She was a dedicated wife, successful entrepreneur, loving mother and grandmother. Christine had an exuberant and outgoing personality and loved the challenges that life presented, forever exhibiting a positive attitude that inspired those around her. Her breadth of interest was all encompassing: reading, travel, new languages, color, fabric, science, religion, communication and most of all other people!
Christine grew up in Massachusetts, attended Weymouth High School and graduated from William Smith College in Geneva, New York with a Bachelor of Arts in 1959. She created a path to success as a decorator, starting out by owning a small shop with partners in Mercersburg, Pennsylvania then a shop called "Tree House" in Winchester, Virginia. In 1979, she developed Maclin Design, Inc. in Portland and worked with a wide range of clients in Maine and around the world.
A major change in her life was living in Manila, Philippines, from 1986 to 1989, where her husband Waite Maclin was Training Director for the United States Peace Corps. Working and traveling extensively in Asia was "a revelation," she said. The experience helped her develop an aesthetic view of functional practicality with the sophisticated simplicity of Swedish design with which she grew up.
Throughout her life, Christine exhibited a powerful curiosity about the people and places she encountered. Everyone close to her can recount stories of her saying numerous times "I met the most interesting person today," as she launched into a story about someone who served her lunch or a buyer at the Boston Interior Design building.
Christine loved her craft and strove for client satisfaction and took personal pride in a job well done. She formed strong bonds with and enjoyed the professionalism and friendship of all the men and women with whom she worked.
Along with a strong sense of intellectual curiosity she relished the idea of having fun every day. In her work and in personal time, she enjoyed and celebrated life and her relationships. Everyone who knew her was aware that when Christine arrived, the party started.
Over the past weeks, so many of her clients have told her of how she has created spaces where they live that reflect her amazing creative spirit. They will forever have her remarkable presence surrounding them with peace, beauty and strength. One client has written: "Thank you for creating two beautiful homes for us. They are cozy and nurturing where we can be quiet and still or productive and generous."
Here is what one young friend said: "Christine, You are an amazing and vibrant woman who I have always admired and enjoyed being in your company. Witty and sharp and quick to laugh, are a few of many things I love about you. You're interesting and interested which is rare these days. I love you."
Conspicuously displayed over her office desk was the motto she lived by: "Never Give Up, Don't Make Excuses, Have Fun!"
Christine is survived by her husband of 36 years, Charles Waite Maclin of Portland; her two sons, Shepherd Ladley Husted of Portland, Thomas Kristian Husted, his wife Shalimar Sulisto of Jakarta, Indonesia and their two children, Rania and Alan; her brother, Eric Anderson and his wife, Cynthia Ciani Anderson of Belfast and their two children, Ruth Anderson Lang of East Palo Alto, California and Jane Anderson of Millis, Massachusetts; her sister Elizabeth Anderson and her husband Mark Keil of Andover, Massachusetts and their son, Lars Keil of Providence, Rhode Island; her aunt Barbara Lawry Weber of Honolulu,HI; her cousins David Wirkala of Yarmouth, Alan Wirkala of Waterbury, Connecticut, Paula Weber Herr of Nairobi, Kenya, Allan Battistini of Southport, Linda Battistini Poulin of Braintree, Massachusetts, Else-Marie Ostling of Gävle, Sweden, Celeste Roberts of Honolulu, Hawaii; Barbara Weber of Los Gatos, CA; James and John Weber of Honolulu, Hawaii and Mark Weber of Gray, Tennessee. Christine was predeceased by her cousin, Gail Weber, formerly of Winchester, Massachusetts.
A celebratory memorial service will be held at St. Luke's Episcopal Cathedral, 143 State Street in Portland on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2016 at 1 p.m. Following the service, at Christine's request we will have a party in her honor at the Cumberland Club, 116 High Street. Parking is available behind the Cathedral on Park Street; this same parking lot is shared by the Cumberland Club. Arrangements are under the direction of

Sadly, we have lost another classmate.RIP Brian.
Brian M. Kelly, 74
Obituary
Posted Nov. 29, 2014 @ 2:01 am
DOVER-FOXCROFT, ME - Brian M. Kelly passed away peacefully at home on Nov. 19, 2014. Brian was the son of the late Robert M. Kelly and Grace J. (O'Meara) Kelly.
Brian was an adventurer, a problem-solver and a friend to all. He rarely took the easy route and was far more excited by the journey than by his destination. Each day was new. He loved challenges. He collected people and gave generously of a hugely optimistic spirit and his friendship.
Above all other pursuits, Brian loved to fly. As a Private Pilot, Brian flew for 51 years, mostly in tail-draggers and on floats. He often said that he was newly excited each time he flew to see Earth in its wider dimensions, laid out before him like a great map.
In 1961, Brian became the youngest elected Town Meeting member in Weymouth, MA history. In Brewster, MA, he served the Town for more than a decade as Chairman of the Stoney Brook Mill Sites. In Dover-Foxcroft, ME, he served on the Airport Advisory Committee for many years as airport manager at the Charles A. Chase, Jr. Memorial Airport.
Brian served six years in the Naval Air Reserve as a crewman in Grumman S2-Fs and was stationed at Guantanamo Bay Naval Base in 1964 when Castro turned off the water to the base.
He studied machine and tool design at Wentworth Institute and heating ventilation and air conditioning system design at Franklin Institute prior to joining Alonzo B. Reed, Inc. in Boston as a draftsman. He worked in Charleston, SC for Rosenblatt & Associates, marine engineers, before moving to New York City to a position at Syska Hennessey, where he designed hospital clean rooms. However, Brian never enjoyed city life.
An opportunity he felt too good to pass up took him with his bride from Manhattan to Cape Cod. Using only hand tools, he and Helen tore down an 1820 Cape Cod style house. Together they moved it board-by-board, brick-by-brick to a new location, reconstructed the "house kit," and moved into their new home the night their first child was born. Brian worked in the building trades for 15 years before joining East Cape Engineering Inc. in Orleans, MA, where his early interest in surveying reemerged.
He moved to Maine in 1990 when, at age 50, he returned to school at the University of Maine to complete the core survey engineering curriculum. While working in the field with a Maine surveyor, he earned his Bachelors Degree in engineering management through Southwest University. He became a site evaluator, licensed to design septic systems, and he received his Professional Land Surveyor's license in 2000. Brian served as President of the Hancock/Penobscot Chapter of the Maine Society of Land Surveyors and as a Director - At Large on the MSLS state board. He loved the woods and fields; he loved his work.
Brian is survived by his wife of 46 years, Helen Streeter Kelly of Dover-Foxcroft; a son, Colin Daniel Kelly, his wife Stacy and grandson Finian of Union, ME; his daughter Bevin Kelly St. Charles, her husband Edward and granddaughter Madalin of Lincolnville, ME; two brothers, Gerard P. Kelly and wife Constance of Plymouth, MA and Gregory P. Kelly and wife Candace of Brewster, MA; his sister-in-law Mary Kelly of Pembroke, MA; seven nephews and nieces; and many Kelly and O'Meara cousins. In addition to his parents, two brothers, Robert M. Kelly, Jr. and Daniel L. Kelly, predeceased Brian. Brian leaves lasting friendships too numerable to count.
Mass for Brian will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 43 High Street, Dover-Foxcroft, ME Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014 at 10 a.m. A reception in the church basement will follow the service. His ashes will be committed in a graveside service Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014 at 2 p.m. at the Orleans Cemetery, Orleans, MA.
In his honor, the Brian Kelly Surveying Scholarship has been established at the University of Maine to benefit a nontraditional surveying student over 50. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the University of Maine Foundation, Two Alumni Place, Orono, ME 04469-5792, or made online at www.umainefoundation.org.

We have received two thank yous for our Class of 1959 $500.00 scholarships awarded to Weymouth High graduates this year. The two students we have heard from are Christine Karlberg and Lauren Spellman. Christine will be attending the University of Massachusetts in Amherst and Lauren will be attending Bridgewater State University. We awarded three $500.00 scholarships so we am waiting to hear from the third recipient. The name of the third recipient is Kevin James Conlon. If you remember, last year the High School completed its scholarship selections months earlier than in the past. Many organizations were caught off guard including us. The person in charge of the scholarships suggested we wait until this year to award ours from the Class of 1959. We sent the money to the High School in January so as not to be late if the earlier schedule was followed ( which it was). WeI'll let you know who the third person is when we find out.
